West O'ahu's First and Only Interventional Cardiac Catheterization Unit

Heart Attack Survivor

Our Cardiac Catheterization Unit puts lifesaving care 100 minutes closer to West O‘ahu families.

It wasn’t just Noel Kato’s life we saved after his heart attack. “My daughter is 10 years old,” Noel remarked, “I need to be here for her.”

Pali Momi’s Cardiac Catheterization Unit is the only facility of its kind in West O‘ahu. For heart attack patients, it can be a real lifesaver. Instead of being transported to Honolulu, they can now begin treatment immediately, up to 100 minutes sooner.

It’s one of the ways we’ve grown to answer the medical needs of our community. Because saving minutes saves lives.

Top of the line system provides advanced diagnostic capability

The cardiologists on staff at Pali Momi were instrumental in securing state approval for expansion of the diagnostic catheterization lab and designing the new fully integrated interventional system. The unit is equipped with the most powerful camera available, producing superior images to analyze coronary vessels. The advanced imaging capability also provides the clarity needed for imaging overweight and obese patients.

Experienced Interventional Team

In addition to its physical facility, Pali Momi has assembled an impressive group of interventional cardiologists, certified cardiovascular radiology technologists and nurses experienced in interventional and device implantation procedures. Together the entire team provides care when and where it is needed, right in the community.

Hospital Recognized by American Heart Association

For three consecutive years, the American Heart Association (AHA) has recognized Pali Momi Medical Center with its Gold Award for excellence in the treatment of coronary artery disease. While more than 1,490 facilities have adopted AHA’s Get With the Guidelines Program for Coronary Artery Disease, less than ten percent have received the Gold Award for adhering to AHA’s guidelines for a period of 24 consecutive months. Pali Momi is one of only 118 across the country to meet this high standard. The hospital was also recognized for excellence in the treatment of heart failure.

In addition, Pali Momi subscribes to the American College of Cardiology, National Cardiovascular Data Registry, the premier national benchmarking institution for cardiovascular care. The hospital’s performance is measured against more than 600 sites across the United States.
